Rose Gold Packaging Done Right

Charlotte Tilbury, Filmstar Bronze and Glow Matte Revolution Lipstick, Charlotte Tilbury Glastonberry

If I could imagine up a makeup line it would come so close to what Charlotte Tilbury has already created for her makeup empire. From the beautiful timeless packaging, to the grade A quality of her products. Honestly, there isn't a thing not to love. I think it may be the antique beauty vibe that really drew me in to her products, there was just an effortless touch to them that really captured me. I imagine this is what women from my grandma's age used - placed up on their vanities up alongside their pearls and curls.

CT's line is not the cheapest, and boy were these two on my wish list for a long time. I saw bloggers raving about these products left and right, and I longed for them to be readily available in the U.S. To my luck, Nordstrom began carrying the CT line, and I oohed and ahhed over all of the products. I finally bit the bullet during the Friends & Family beauty gift deal, and snatched up the Filmstar Bronze & Glow palette. This thing is gorgeous, and I'll be honest that I didn't touch it for a good amount of time when I first got it because I didn't want to ruin it's perfection. As you can see I've long gotten over it, and it is such a treat to pick this up and use each time.

Can we just take a moment to admire all that is wonderful about the Matte Revolution Lipsticks? They were finally released in the U.S. and the first one I snagged up for my collection was the dark vampy color in Glastonberry. I was distraught when I found out they were released for a short period at the beginning of this year, but by the time I had learned it was over. Fast forward a few months, and the official release has happened. It's a dangerous thing for my wallet, because I'm hooked.

First off, the shape of the lipstick itself is unlike one I've ever seen, squared off to make it easy to line your lips with little to no effort.

*s i d e  s t o r y* I received this on one of the warmer days these past few weeks, and when I went to open the tube I twisted at the same time and instantly I knew the top had smushed against the lid. Any blogger out there will probably feel my heartbreak - photo op ruined. But when I opened it, it wasn't as bad as I thought - yes it was smudged, but nothing a little patting down couldn't do to reshape.

Crisis averted.

As are all matte lipsticks, this lipstick can be difficult to put on since it tugs at the lips when applied. This is also one to use when your lips are in tip-top shape. I put on some Nuxe Reve de Miel lip balm prior to wearing this, and once it was on - it. was. on. I put it on around 10AM - ate lunch, drank tea, ate dinner, and it was still there through all of it. It did fade away slightly, but left a nice stain that was wearable for hours. I can see myself pulling this out a lot this Autumn, and I could not be more excited. If you're a fan of the darker colors, or berry colors in general, this is definitely one to pick up.
