May // Favorite Little Things

Jo Malone, Orange Blossom, NARS Audacious, Anastasia Pomade, Burberry, Pale Barley

As May ends I find myself in the midst of possibly my favorite season of the year. I absolutely love the weather and longer days that come with the end of Spring and beginning of Summer. I've been pretty easygoing on the makeup front and have really just been enjoying mauve-pink lips, a bold brow, and a floraly fragrance.

I recently picked up the Burberry eyeshadow in Pale Barley, I had been lusting over this product for the past few months and it was always sold out at the Nordstrom Burberry counter. One day I was just browsing and to my delight, the whole counter had been re-stocked. Pale Barley is the perfect shade for everyday wear, it looks lovely on its own, and can be layered over MAC Groundwork for a deep, taupe color.

The Anastasia Dip Brow Pomade has been sitting in my makeup drawers for too long, I never really got around to working up the courage to really use it. After many months of having it and never touched it, I finally went for it and boy am I glad I did. Doing my brows in the morning with this is extremely quick and easy - all I need is literally a few dabs of this product on a brush and I'm good to go. I can't possibly see myself finishing this entire jar, I'm betting it'll dry out before I even have the chance to finish this out. Definitely a bang for your buck product.

I've been going for a MLBB-type lip and have been finding myself drawn to mauve pink tones. I picked up quite a few new lip products this past month - true (May)hem I tell ya - but I didn't want to jump to conclusions too quickly, so I decided to leave those out of this current monthly favorite. I did find myself reaching back in my drawers for the NARS Audacious lipstick in Anita. Anita is described as an "antique rose" color, and I quite agree. It's a rosey-brown color, and turns a bit mauve colored on my lips. The formulation on this line is so creamy and wearable, it doesn't feel drying and it even fades away and leaves a subtle stain.

Jo Malone, Jo Malone Orange Blossom

Fragrance wise I've stuck with the floral trend. I still reach for my Chloe perfume, but I've been sneaking into my mom's bathroom to spritz some of her Jo Malone perfume in Orange Blossom. This has been my mom's signature scent for a long while now, and every time I smell it on someone or walk by a counter I think of her. It has a light, jasmine/citrus scent which soothes my senses and makes me feel at home. I recently purchased this for my mom as her birthday present, so I don't think she'll mind if I take a few spritzes here and there!

Here we find ourselves in June, and I am extremely excited for this month. The Summer months are officially here and my weekends are quickly booking up with fun weekend trips with friends. So far this month I have planned out: a quick Napa weekend getaway with my lifelong best friend & my birthday weekend where I will party it up with Ed Sheeran and then explore San Francisco with my boyfriend. It's bound to be an adventure filled month.
