Current AM & PM Skincare Routine | Featuring uruoi Skincare

AD | This post is a paid partnership with uruoi. All thoughts and opinions remain my own.

It’s been a hot minute since I shared my skincare routine and while I relatively keep similar steps, I will rotate in and out new products. During COVID, one added perk of quarantining is the additional time in the morning and evening to enjoy a nice skincare routine.

I was introduced to uruoi almost two years ago (wow time flies) and have kept their products in and out of my routine since then. I recently partnered up with them to integrate many of their products into my routine and regularly use them so I thought I would share some of my favorite go-to products these days for my AM & PM routine! I’ll generally swap out products in similar categories but most of it stays pretty similar. I’m not going into the cleansers I use but all of the steps I usually will use post-cleanse, but morning and night.

THE PM ROUTINE

  • Shani Darden Texture Reform *: I’m almost at the end of this but I have absolutely been loving it. I did a paid collaboration with Shani Darden over on IG (this post is not part of that) and I participated in their #FindYourRetinol challenge of using this regularly for 30-days. I noticed a huge difference and have regularly used this since. I lowered the frequency to 2-3 days between use and still see great results.

Texture Reform is a gentler version of their Retinol Reform and is formulated with a gentle retinol and lactic acid. It helps to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, smooth out the skin, and brighten your complexion. I definitely notice that my skin looks more plump and even in tone when I use this regularly.

  • uruoi Moisture Milk *: After using Texture Reform or other retinol products, I like to add a good layer of hydration. I previously emptied one of these and am so glad to have a restock. This has a light and thin texture that can easily be layered with other products. An added benefit is that this helps strengthen your skin barrier and boost your skin with a touch of added hydration with hyaluronic acid.

  • uruoi Emollient Cream *: This has a nice thicc (yup, with two c's) and feels so comforting and hydrating. The areat thing is that this is a thick texture but does not feel heavy on your skin at all. This has ingredients such as aloe vera and hyaluronic acid to help protect the skin barrier and hydrate your skin. I’ve only reached for this in the PM as the weather is starting to warm up here in California already and my skin isn’t feeling overly parched for a heavy cream during the day. But I could definitely see this being an amazing option during the Winter when your skin is dry and craving some extra hydration. When using any retinol products I like to layer on a good moisturizer and have been reaching for this one. My skin looks *amazing* in the morning and never feels greasy.

  • Tatcha The Kissu Mask *: I am awful at taking care of my lips and drinking enough water (lol) so I frequently have dry cracked lips (yikes). I’m trying to be better about using my plethora of lip products and have been reminded of how much I love this Kissu Mask from Tatcha. It has a lightweight texture but its one that I can feel the next morning even if I apply before going to bed. This was originally brought out as a limited edition product but last year (or maybe 2019) they brought it back permanently.

The AM ROUTINE

In the AM I’ve been alternating through various serums. Since I’m mostly working from home these days, I like to apply light layers of products.

  • uruoi Repair Essence *: This adds a nice thick layer of hydration as it’s a hybrid of an essence and serum. This is infused with hyaluronic acid so this naturally hydrates your skin. I love adding an essence to my routine as it helps prep the skin for the rest of your skincare routine - think of it like your primer for makeup.

  • YTTP 15% Vitamin C + Clean Caffeine Energy Serum *: When using a retinol product, it is recommended to pair it with vitamin C for ultimate skin results. Vitamin C helps protect skin from pollutants and helps to brighten your skin by helping with hyperpigmentation and redness. I’ve tried a lot of vitamin C products and I often have a lot of criticism with the texture and smell. I’m happy to say that this one does not have an offensive smell and also has a light texture that does not feel sticky.

  • Caudalie Resveratrol Lift Instant Firming Serum *: On alternate days when I am not using the Shani Darden Texture Reform, I have started incorporating this serum as it can be used both AM & PM.

    • A fun fact - Caudalie has committed to zero-waste packaging by 2022, with the aim to have 100% recycled, recyclable, or refillable products - using less plastic, paper, and metal. I love Caudalie and this step is something that makes me love and appreciate them even more.

  • Krave Beauty The Beet Shield * (gifted but previously purchased on my own): You should use sunscreen every single day, but especially if you’re using retinol/vitamin C products. One of my favorite sunscreen product discoveries in recent years has to be The Beet Shield - hands down. This has a lightweight but dewy texture that helps with sun damage and pollutants. Aside from protecting your skin against the sun, it also protects your skin against environmental aggressors by adding antioxidants and helping to reduce pigmentation. The biggest perk of all is that this does not leave a white cast. It is well-loved throughout the beauty community and for good reason. It’s currently sold out and many a people (myself included) are patiently waiting to pick up a backup / restock.
