Lipsticks + Chemistry

Lips will always have their moment in the beauty world - bright lips, nude lips, matte lips, puckered lips, and enhanced lips - you name it. I have a very casual work environment so I'm not particularly drawn to wearing bright or bold lipsticks there, so I usually go for a neutral lipstick or tinted lip balm to enhance my natural lip color rather than add a completely different shade. In my bag you will always find one of these two lip products, as they work with my body's chemistry to create a shade that's unique to me. On top of that I'm a sucker for cute packaging - I mean, just look at the packaging on these products. *insert heart-eye emoji*

These two lip products fulfill both marks for me - they work with the natural chemistry of your body to add a pink tint and a unique shade to your lips that is unique to you & these products are wonderfully moisturizing and help keep my lips far from being chapped.

Dior Addict Lip Glow in Pink: this one definitely has a thicker consistency of the two and feels heavier on the lips. However, this stuff is ultra moisturizing and I can still feel it working it's magic on my lips 3-4 hours later. This shade gives more of a sheer pink tint to the lips -it is extremely subtle, it does not change your lip color as much as Frog Prince. I do really want to try the Coral version of this, I hear that it does a better job of adding a brighter pop of color.

Lipstick Queen - Frog Prince: I was walking around a new Ulta that popped up near my house and saw that there was an entire Lipstick Queen counter - I was obsessed. I went overboard swatching everything on my hand and was debating through Frog Prince and Hello Sailor.  I remember seeing a blogger a few years back using a green lipstick that added a pink tinge, so although nothing showed up on my hand I thought I'd give it a whirl. Obviously the first thing I did when I got home was apply it, and within a matter of minutes I had a rosy pink tinge on my lips. And let me tell you, this stuff does not fade. If you're really going for more of a color pop, I'd go with Frog Prince over the Dior Lip Glow!

[Hop on over to the lovely Hao's blog to see Frog Prince in action!]

Have you tried either of these products?

Happy weekend everyone!
