Introduction to uruoi Skincare

AD | This post is a paid partnership with uruoi. All thoughts and opinions remain my own.

I was introduced to uruoi skincare almost two years ago. uruoi skincare is a minimalistic Japanese-skincare brand. Many of their products are formulated without synthetic fragrances, sulfate, phthalate, synthetic color, and mineral oil. Their products are gentle and effective and I’ve pleasantly surprised with almost all the products I’ve tried from them.

In this post I’ll be giving a rundown on the products from their range that I’ve tried along with my thoughts on the products. If after reading this you decide you’d like to give them a try, you can use the code CHYISM15 and save 15% on your order site-wide! Note that this cannot be stacked on top of their product bundle deals.

uruoi SkincarE
A blessing of water for every skin

Uruoi means moisture, blessing, and fulfillment. This is also the foundation of our brand and products. uruoi is a minimal J-Beauty skincare brand with a goal to bring moisture, blessing, and fulfillment to your routine, your skin, your body, and your life.

uruoi’s products are free of fragrance, ethanol, paraben, phthalate, sulfate, synthetic color, and mineral oil

uruoi has produced their own fermentation process to produce DENKA PURE HYALURONIC ACID, D.P.H.A.™, a highly moisturizing ingredient. Each product in uruoi’s lineup contains this ingredient.

uruoi has two series: U-Series & S-Series

  • U-Series: The products in this series are designed to increase the skin’s hydration levels. They are formulated with D.P.H.A. and natural moisturizing ingredients to balance pH levels and maintain the skin’s natural skin barrier.

  • S-Series: The products in this series are designed for those with sensitive skin. The products are formulated to be mildly-acidic to soothe and calm sensitive skin

uruoi recommends to use your fingers and hands to apply their products by pressing it into your skin for maximum absorption. #PRESSITALLTHEWAY

uruoi moisture gel and make-up cleansing gel
uruoi moisture milk review
  • make-up cleansing ($28 for 4.94 fl oz) |
I have been pleasantly surprised by this as a first cleanse as it is a gel-to-oil cleanser that removes makeup, sunscreen, and regular old dirt. I love that this leaves my skin feeling soft and clean without any greasy film behind. This also has D.P.H.A. and artichoke leaf extract to leave your skin hydrated but also help minimize the look of pores.
This is the perfect in-between if you’re looking for something thicker than an oil cleanser but also something thinner than a cleansing balm. I usually will follow up with another cleanser after for a double cleanse, but on lighter no-makeup days and if I’m feeling a bit lazy, this will suffice as a single cleanse.

  • skin lotion ($40 for 5.47 fl oz) |
This is a hydrating and anti-aging 2-in-1 essence toner. This has a mildly-acidic formula that will help balance your skin while also prepping it for absorption so you can get the most out of the rest of your routine. In addition to D.P.H.A. and brown algae extract, this also has placenta extract and sodium lactate to help reduce the appearance of dark spots.

This has a bit thicker of a texture than your standard toner which makes it easy to apply into your palm and pat into your skin. In fact it doesn’t really work well with a cotton round as it sort of pools on top and takes time to sink in.

  • repair essence ($80 for 1.76 fl oz) |
This is one of the pricier items in their collection but one that I have quickly enjoyed. As noted above, uruoi recommends using your hands to pat the product into your skin. This has a thicker texture and comes in packaging with a pump so it makes it easy to apply to your skin. It provides an added boost of hydration and preps your skin to amplify hydration from the rest of your routine. Similar to the skin lotion, this also has placenta extract and sodium lactate so this plumps your skin while reducing the appearance of dark spots.

A little goes a long way with this and it easily glides over your skin. I particularly enjoy using this in the evening when I have more time to layer products on. This gives a similar effect to the skin lotion but in a thicker consistency. If you’re on a budget, I would recommend going with skin lotion for the amount of product you get for the cost. I would say the essence is a bit of a splurge but a great one to get if you’re in the market (and budget) for it.

  • moisture milk ($40 for 2.12 fl oz)
This has a thin milky texture that is perfect for layering with other products. This helps strengthen your skin barrier while also boosting your skin’s moisture level. This was originally formulated to be used in baby products so it is perfectly suitable for those with sensitive skin. This also helps protect skin from environmental stressors that reduce redness.

This has a lightweight texture which makes it perfectly suitable to layer with other products in the winter without feeling heavy on the skin. During warmer weather when I’m a bit more lazy with my routines, I can use this along with a sunscreen and I’m pretty much good to go.

  • emollient cream ($55 for 1.41 fl oz) |
I had heard many others speak on this and knew I wanted to try it for myself. It’s a thick texture but feels light and whipped on the skin. It helps my skin feel soft and supple with no greasy residue. This can be used all over your skin or as a spot treatment for specifically dryer areas that need help. It can also be gently applied to the eye area as an eye cream.

This is a rich cream that uses D.P.H.A. and aloe vera to hydrate and restore your skin while protecting your skin’s natural barrier. It also uses grapevine extract to help enhance and promote cell rejuvenation, collagen production, and supple skin. It also uses placenta extract and sodium lactate to promote a brighter complexion and reduce the appearance of dark spots.

  • deep moisture gel ($35 for 4.94 fl oz) |
This is a multi-functional product which is a triple threat toner-essence-moisturizer, all in one. You can use this as your regular cleanser, overnight as a sleep mask, and even on your body as a lotion. This contains D.P.H.A. and can be used on face and body to boost hydration, calm skin, and strengthen your skin barrier. This also has Vitamin C which helps to give an added boost of radiance and a brighter complexion. For the price, this is definitely a great bang for your buck.

uruoi has the option where you can buy items individually or you can shop their sets which save you some $$$.

As mentioned above, I was introduced to uruoi ~two years ago and have been regularly incorporating some of their products into my routine.

As part of my collaboration with uruoi, I used their products consecutively for 5 days. Although I had added most of their products into my routine previously to know that my skin was not irritated, I got to the point where I was almost exclusively using uruoi’s products in my routine. I noticed that my skin felt very soft and supple and almost looked a bit bouncier. As I’m turning 30 later this year, I’ve become extra sensitive to fine lines forming and with regular use I did notice that I saw them minimize a bit. My skin also looked a lot less red and was just overall more even in tone. I also feel like this helped balance my skin and reduce the oiliness, I didn’t see dry patches of skin in certain areas within my cheeks/chin and saw that my forehead and nose produced a bit less oil.

What are your thoughts on uruoi? Have you heard of them before? If not, do you think you’ll give them a try?

Stay tuned for a post in the upcoming weeks that lets you know how I incorporate uruoi’s products into my routine!
