NARS // Satin Lip Pencils

Who doesn't love a good NARS product? The quality is superb, the packaging is beautiful, and it makes for a great photo op. And by photo op I mean the color payout and the product itself. But really, in all seriousness - NARS products sneak their way into most (all) blogger photos and for good reason.

There are so many options when it comes to NARS products. I can't tell you how many Sephora trips were spent swatching these bad boys on the back of my hand. After multiple trips of contemplating, I finally picked up these two colors (on separate occasions) from the NARS Satin Lip Pencil range.

Hyde Park

is described as a 'Cardinal Red' but I see it as more of a cranberry-red - it's on the brighter side and is great for  a bright pop to add to my lips.

Isola Bella

is described as a 'Peach Beige' and it is a lovely nude shade, it's a barely there color and truly adds a nice subtle and peachy layer on my lips.

The downside of these lip pencils is the fact that they're a pencil, and they require sharpening. I'll admit I didn't use these as much as I would have liked to as I didn't want to go out and get a sharpener big enough to fit these. For reference, I've had these pencils for probably a year or so - really not utilizing them to their full potential. Luckily enough my mom discovered The Face Shop and bought me a few knickknacks, including a two-in-one sharpener - #win. Granted it's a pain to clean out the sharpener after as some lip product does get stuck in between the blades - I just wet a Q-Tip and scrape it all off.

Now let me tell ya, each time I sharpen the pencils it feels like I'm using a new pencil. Now who doesn't love that?

I've been seeing Cruella just about everywhere, and I really want to get my hands on one to see what all the fuss is about. Since I know that I will get one from Sephora later this year for my coveted birthday gift, I cannot justify purchasing one. June needs to come sooner (for this and many other reasons).

The NARS hype for these lippies are insane, but they're definitely worth giving a shot. What's your favorite shade from the line? Do you prefer the Satin Lip Pencils or Velvet Matte Lip Pencils?

Cheers!
