Caught Me Blushing' (Pt. 2)

Divya of The Conscience Fund tagged me to do this blush tag post! And looking back, I actually did this post back in July when I was tagged by Hao, but I've decided to do this again for two reasons: 1 - I've picked up a hell of a lot of new products in the past half year. and 2 - my preferences change because I've changed. Yeah, it's pretty apparent that I have a problem.

Let's get on with the tag, shall we?

1. What blush color suits you the most?
I'm going to cheat a bit here and say that both dusty rose pinks and plummy roses suit me well, mainly depending on certain times of the year. As I tend to be extremely pale during the Fall and Winter months, I'll reach for the plummy rose toned colors as they add color and warmth to my cheeks. In the Spring & Summer when I have more color in my skin, I'll reach for the pinkier shades as they just give a subtle healthy glow.

2. Pressed, cream or loose blush?
I'm going to go with pressed blush for this one. I haven't fully figured out how to comfortably use cream blushes and loose blushes are just a mess. Not to mention I do my makeup on the floor in front of my mirror, and carpet + loose blush do not do well together. So yeah, definitely pressed.

3. Favorite shimmery blush?
This one goes out to Benefit Coralista. This is one of my favorite blushes and I particularly love using it during the warmer months. This particular product is the perfect hybrid of a blush and highlighter, adding a perfect touch of color and glow. Closely followed by Coralista are NARS Lovejoy and Hourglass Moonstone - both which have minute amounts of sparkle that I adore.

4. Favorite matte blush?
This one is really a toss up between Tarte Exposed and NARS Douceur. Exposed is a recent addition in my collection, but boy has it quickly shot up to the top of my list. I alternate between this and Mood Exposure everyday. I'll have to give this one to Exposed tho as it is easily available to anyone out there. Douceur is beautiful, but I feel you really need to pack a lot of product on the brush to get the same amount of pigmentation as Exposed on your cheeks.

5. Favorite cream blush?
Now I'm not actually a huge fan of cream blushes, but if I had to choose I would say ColourPop Aphrodisiac. This one has a soft texture that isn't completely a cream blush. I like using this one with a stippling brush and then patting it in with my fingers. If you have any tips for using cream blushes please let me know!

6. Favorite drugstore blush?
I'm also quite a #blushsnob as I don't have any drugstore blushes that are actually in my regular rotation. My one bit is that there aren't any testers to swatch, and I'm just not down to spend money on blushes that may not look all that great on me. I picked up the E.L.F. duo a while back, but I honestly have not reached for it so I should probably donate that or throw it out.

7. Favorite high end blush?
Now that I have *finally* tried Hourglass blushes, I'm gonna go ahead and give this category to them. Their products are beautiful, the product itself is fabulous and there is no denying how gorgeous their packaging is. A close second would come NARS - do they even count as high end? They have a beautiful variety of colors and who can say no to the oh so photogenic black packaging?

8. Favorite bright blush?
I'm gonna go ahead and give this one to Coralista - it's one of the few brighter blushes that I'm fond of and I'll always reach for it if I want a bright pop of color on my cheeks. A close second is the Hourglass Luminous Flush which is a recent addition and one that looks a bit terrifying in the pan, but so lovely on the cheeks. See - this is the great thing about owning a palette as you get to try something you may not have even given a shot.

9. Biggest blush disappointment/regret?
For me as well, NARS Orgasm was such a disappointment. I got hyped up with this one back in 2009/2010 when all the YouTubers and Beauty Bloggers were raving about this one left and right. In sum, this one looked like a funfetti disco ball exploded on my face and I was not feeling it. Benefit Coralista is pretty much everything I hoped NARS Orgasm would be.

10. Best blush packaging?
This one is between Tarte and NARS, but as NARS attracts finger prints and makeup product like nobody's business, this one goes to Tarte. It's small, compact, and has a mirror. I really can't ask for much else.

11. What’s on your blush wish list?
I'm actually eyeing some Becca blushes as I've loved all the highlighters that I've tried and would love to pick up a blush or two to try. Ingrid recently featured a Chantecaille gel-cream blush which definitely intrigues me - it had such a natural finish!

12. Number 1 Holy Grail Blush?
I must say this is Tarte Exposed for me as well. I've succumbed to the hype of the beauty world. I alternate between this and Mood Exposure everyday, so it is definitely up there in the ranks for me. Mood Exposure is a close second though, a very close second.

I think doing TAG posts multiple times, spread out from one year to the next is fun! It's definitely interesting how some of your answers stay the same while others drastically change. I'm tagging a few ladies, but I'd love to read yours if you choose to do it! Please leave a link below if you do.

I tag:
Celina from The Celution
Tenneil from Like Neon Love
Sarah from Neon Blonde
Chantalle from Cece and Grace

(Side note - I actually wrote this up before re-reading my last tag. It's kind of funny how I answered stuff so similarly, although there are some different answers!)
