Barely-There-Pink Lips

I'm not typically one to reach for much color, but going along with my nude lipstick bend I've been reaching for some barely there, sheer pink lip options. These are great options for the low-key makeup I've been rocking that pairs particularly well with glowy, dewy skin and some bold brows.

During the last Sephora VIB sale, I picked up the Sephora 'Give Me Some Nude Lip' Kit and in it was a full size of the NARS Lipstick in Dolce Vitawhich is described as a Sheer Dusty Rose. This is one of those "fan favorite" lip colors and I can see why. It's sheer and gives your lips that plumped up look without looking overly done. Very girl next door esque. It adds a little bit of a natural pink flush which definitely looks great paired with that glowy complexion.

Using this lipstick started a whole thing and I went back and started to dig out two lipsticks in my collection that are said to "work" with your body's chemistry to create the perfect pink on your lips. First off is the Dior Addict Lip Glow in Pink and second is Lipstick Queen's Frog Prince. These are both moisturizing which is great as my lips have been extremely chapped as of late (I need to drink more water). They're extremely low maintenance and comfortable to wear on the lips when you need to be fuss free. I did a comparison on these two back in the day which you can read all about HERE

A recent addition to my collection was the Lancome Juicy Shaker in Vanilla Pop. Ever since Estee featured these in a vlog I knew I wanted to try this little thing for myself. (I give into the hype easily, so sue me.) These were released in the UK a while back but they were finally released here in the US and I waited a somewhat "appropriate" time before going out to buy it.

If you haven't heard about these juicy shakers, they're a bi-phase product and are entering the beauty scene as the lip oil trend stays high. The first layer of this is an oil phase to give that glossy look with all the comfort and without the sticky mess. The second layer is a pigment phase which gives you that pop of color and fades nicely through the day. The little cushion you use to apply is so soft and is lovely to use, although I see it as a potential harbor for bacteria so I'll probably toss this once I think it has met its time.

Lancome notes 5 nourishing oils in these juicy shakers that you can "treat" your lips with:

The cocktail blend of 5 nourishing oils treats your lips like a lip balm. Peach kernel oil; a well-known emollient softens lips while Sweet Almond oil conditions and Cranberry oil provides rich anti-oxidant properties. Muscat Rose oil is rich in essential fatty acids and helps to soothe lips. So addictive, you won’t be able to resist applying it over and over.

Since I've been quite interested in trying a lip oil of some sort and I thought this would be the perfect gateway into that. I had the Lancome Juicy Tube glosses back in my early teen days and this just gives me all kinda throwback feels. Does it make anyone else feel young at heart when using it? Other than the Juicy Tubes, I really saw Lancome as such an "adult" brand. It's at a slightly higher price point and everything just seems and feels a lot more luxe - but maybe it's just cause my mom had a good amount of beauty goods from the brand. I'm really enjoying this and will most likely go in to really look at what other products they have to offer.
